Important Steps in Recruitment Process

 Recruitment Process

What is Recruitment Process?

The recruitment process involves identifying labor supply sources, evaluating their validity, selecting the most suitable source, and attracting and motivating candidates to apply for vacant jobs. While every organization has its own recruitment process, most follow basic steps, including:

1. Preparing: After a job opening is approved, the recruiter contacts the hiring manager to gather information about the position, including required skills, roles, and responsibilities. This information is used to create a clear and inclusive job description, which is then used to write the job posting.

2. Sourcing: The process of sourcing involves identifying and contacting qualified candidates, rather than waiting for them to apply for a position. The primary goal is to pull qualified candidates, and recruiters use various job portals to pull resumes. However, not all positions require sourcing, and in some cases, if there are many applications, there may not be a need for more candidates.

3. Screening: The screening process for a candidate involves a resume screening, followed by a phone screening where recruiters discuss the candidate's availability, role, responsibilities, salary, and notice period. If the candidate meets the job opening criteria, the organization can proceed with their profile, ensuring they are the right fit for the position.

4. Selection: The process involves sending assignments, psychometric tests, scheduling interviews, participating in the interview process, and keeping the hiring manager informed. It also involves maintaining good relationships with the candidate and keeping them updated on interview feedback.

5. Hiring: The final discussion with the candidate about salary and joining date is conducted, and the offer letter is released once the joining date is confirmed.

6. Onboarding: The pre-boarding period begins after the candidate accepts the offer letter, a period between the joining date and the acceptance letter. It's crucial to keep the candidate engaged during this time to prevent them from joining another company. Sharing the new hire's email and other details with the team is also essential. After the first day, the onboarding process begins.
