With all the information at their fingertips, the management can save a great deal of time. Recruiters may now post job vacancies without relying on newspapers, periodicals, or journals. All they need to do is post the employment opportunity online so that applicants from all over the world may view it and apply from the comfort of their own homes. (Mowatt, 2022)
Role of Information Technology in Training:
These days, trainers assist employees learn material more quickly by using a variety of audiovisual tools during training sessions. Computers can also be used to evaluate the training's feedback. As a result, the trainers will be able to comprehend and quickly observe the effects of their instruction. As a result, the trainer is free to update, adjust, or adapt the training curriculum to meet the needs and demands of the staff. (AcademyCraft, 2022)
Role of Information Technology in Performance Management:
These days, the organization's management evaluates employee performance using a variety of software tools. It has aided management in establishing standards, and staff members may also benefit from this. The management finds it simpler to compare real performance to standard performance. and grant them a promotion, a downgrade, etc. in accordance with that. As a result, it makes the choice just and equitable to ensure that there are no misunderstandings among the staff, which will eventually promote an atmosphere of loyalty, trust, and collaboration. Role of Information Technology in Human Resource Information System:
The Human Resource Information System is a comprehensive system designed to gather and store data about employees, including their age, history, education, experience, and other relevant factors. The manager has the ability to evaluate all of the information, which aids them in making important decisions like hiring, selecting, training, and performance reviews. (Intechopen, 2023)
Disadvantages of Information Technology for Perspective Candidates:
(1) As businesses become more reliant on computers than on human labor, the number of employment in the market is decreasing due to the gradual adoption of information technology.
(2) Despite having understanding of computers, a candidate is not eligible to apply for the position if they lack it.
(3) Managing and securing such a large amount of data becomes extremely expensive and challenging for the firm. For this reason, upkeep and security are major concerns for management. (Evalart, 2024)
Conclusion
Information technology, including computers and the internet, has significantly aided organizations in managing information, making crucial decisions about employee recruitment, selection, training, and performance, and fostering strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and dealers, thereby meeting the ever-changing customer demands.
